An Australian educator, Kerstin Liebchen, initially connected with the school in 1991, while still in Australia when she and others founded the Bodhgaya Development Association.

From 2007 onward she began visiting the Prajna Vihar school sharing pedagogical and educational knowledge. She visits Bodh Gaya periodically and offers activity-based programs for the children, and teacher training and professional development workshops for the teachers and staff.
